SMog Services

About Our Smog Service

Every smog check in California includes a visual inspection of emissions control components. Next, a functional inspection of several areas is done, including the check engine light, ignition timing, exhaust gas recirculation system, fuel evaporative system, and gas cap.

As a part of our Smog service we look at the OBD system and tailpipe emissions.

Smog Test

Important points

Every smog check in California includes a visual inspection of emissions control components. A functional inspection of several areas is done, including the check engine light, ignition timing, exhaust gas re-circulation system, fuel evaporative system, and gas cap.

You must present a CA smog inspection certificate when registering your vehicle. Diesel vehicles, hybrids, motorcycles, and trailers also must complete smog checks as well.

When you come in for a smog test, you’ll need to present your driver’s license, proof of insurance, title (unless you are still making payments on the vehicle), and registration.

Once your vehicle passes inspection, you’ll receive a certificate. If your car fails, we will advise you on the repairs needed to pass and then offer you a retest.
